"THE BEAUTY OF A WOMAN IS NOT A FACIAL MODE BUT THE TRUE BEAUTY IN A WOMAN IS REFLECTED IN HER SOUL."

The Perks Of a Messy Bun

The ultimate hair-do that women should do, in my opinion, at least once a week! This is a bulletproof solution which you can do at any given point of the day and for any event! When done the right way, a messy bun can look very sophisticated, chic, retro, or casual! You can rock it for a night out with the girls, when out on a fancy dinner, or even for your prom! Even Meghan Markle had a bun for her wedding, and who says you can't?! No matter the event, here is your guide on how to achieve the perfect messy bun!

How To Make a Messy Bun If You Have Normal Hair?

Step 1:

Make sure you do it when your hair not just washed. You should aim for the second, third, or fourth day after not washing it (different for everyone, depending on how fast your hair gets greasy). You can use a bit of a dry shampoo if it is really bad, if not, leave it as it is.

Step 2:

Flip your head upside down and make a typical loose ponytail. You can make it a bit more messy than the usual, and you can go for both high or low ponytails.

Step 3:

Twist your hair around the top of the ponytail (the base itself), and wrap it into a bun. Make sure you leave a bit of a tail out at the end and then spread it out till you are satisfied with the intensity and the volume level. Take some bobby pins and secure it.

How To Make a Bun If You Have Wavy Hair?

Step 1:

With the help of your fingers comb through your hair, and make sure you don't use a comb since it will ruin your curls. Pull the hair into a high and tight ponytail.

Step 2:

Use a tooth-comb and a bit of hairspray. Apply it onto the end of the comb and start teasing the ponytail, beginning at the roots and going up to the ends.

Step 3:

Wrap the ponytail with your hair tie, and create small coils until all of your hair is under the tie. Use bobby pins and secure it from the front, around the sides, and in the back.

How To Make a Messy Bun If You Have Super Flat Hair

Step 1:

Brush your hair with a comb into a loose ponytail. Then, take a hairspray which has some volume boosting properties, like ANTI-GRAVITY EFFECT ROOT SPRAY by VOLUMETRY, or any kind that can give you a lot of volume. Comb through all the baby hairs towards the ponytail.

Step 2:

Pull the ponytail and brush it out. Position it on top of your head where you'd like to have a mean looking bun. Take a strong gel and comb through your hair with it while making a stiff ponytail.

Step 3:

Make sure your wraps are extremely tight, and that they can hold the ponytail. Coil your ponytail and stack the coils on top of each other. Once you are satisfied with your outcome, use the bobby pins to secure the hairdo. Push the bobby bins towards your scalp and make sure they are not visible.
